not much to report i'm just bored. i could play guitar(i should) but i thought i'd play on the computer for awhile. this thursday is our second show. we didn't practice last week due to thanksgiving related activities. tomorrow we'll try practicing but i'm working and john has a family thing to do. hopefully we'll at least run through the set and then do it again thursday before we load everything up and go to the rud. it should be a fun show regardless. i'm looking forward to hearing ronnie mack and the debutantes. oh yeah and we're putting off going back into the studio until after christmas. we're all excited to record but there's just too much going on at the moment and there's really no need to rush. if i may go off subject for a second we would like to see more feedback from people on the site. sign the guestbook, take the quiz, make comments, tell us how much u love us or how much u think we suck. your comments and suggestions will only help us rock u that much harder. that is what u want right? mat
i hate trying to do these blogs with my crappy ass computer. anyway december is very busy. we got the show on the 2nd with the debutantes and ronnie mac. then we're in the studio the 7th, 8th, and 9th. and more than likely we'll have to go in again for more vocals and overdubs. then we're back at the rud on the sixteenth with pine club. and last but not least at headliners on the 22nd for the debauchery records christmas party show.
reading would like to express sympathy for the friends, family and fans of Russell jones, a.k.a. Old Dirty Bastard, O.D.B. and/or Dirt Mcgirt.
first show is out of the way. alright i'm looking forward to playing our second show dec. 2 at the rudyard kipling. i love the rud and i know i'm not alone. The rud is great, especially when there's alot of people there and they really get into the music. (hint, hint) Plus, Ken Pyle(the owner) is one of the greatest people i've ever met. He's been giving new musicians a place to hone their style for a long time. Well besides that were going to keep trying to finish some rcording and keep working on new stuff. i guess really it's all new to u all. anyhoo, i guess that's it for now. mat
The show went really well last night. Those who missed it, missed 3 great rock and roll bands. We were going to get a recording of the show to post on this here site, but the sound guy didn't have it all hooked up. Damn.
We had one casualty, however. Mat's distortion pedal (RIP). He must have taken "stomp box" literally and knocked the hell out of it.
Thanks to Follow the Train for inviting us to play. And to Carolina for being so dern nice. You guys sounded great! Additional thanks go to everyone who came out to support local music. And thanks for clapping. That means a lot! ;)
Enough thankin' everybody...we've got more songs to record (and write).
Thanks for reading (pun intended)...and yes, I'll quit with the "Thank You's" now.
