What's the deal with everyone naming a song "Wake Up"?

Run DMC (yeah, that's my old-school stretch)
Dr. Dog (read about them on CatBirdSeat)
(the following were found on lyrictracker.com via searching for "wake up" just out of curiousity):
Rage Against the Machine
Brand Nubian
Alanis Morissette (she's real "deep")
Raekwon the chef

Is everyone really that sleepy all the time? Or is it one of those "symbolism" things? Deeeeeeeeeeep.

That's like every other movie that comes out being named "Verbing Noun" (i.e. Waking Ned Devine, Judging Amy (yeah, that's a show), Chasing Amy, Killing Zoe, Pissing Off John (that's the name of my new movie)). Enough bitching...sorry!

While many of the "other" songs you mentioned are, in fact, either sagacious readings of the joys and pains of life or party anthems, ours was actually a failed attempt to write a Folger's theme song. It was rejected by the ad agency in charge of the campaign as "too morbid" and "lacking in any overt references to Folger's Crystals."
